Wenn Mode-Leute schon mal eine hohe Auszeichnung bekommen, dann wollen wir das nicht unterschlagen. So gab es vor ein paar Tagen die Legion d'Honneur (Ehrenlegion) für Franca Sozzani, die Chefredakteurin der Vogue Italia. Das ist der höchste Orden, der in Frankreich verliehen wird. Glückwunsch! Und gleichzeitig mal die Anmerkung, dass die Franzosen da einfach offener sind als wir - wann bekommen denn Fashion-Journalisten bei uns mal ein Bundesverdienstkreuz? Mal sehen, vielleicht wird nun unter Gauck alles anders...

Wie auch immer - die Verleihung ist eine hochoffizielle Angelegenheit, die im Pariser Elysée Palast statt findet, natürlich mit Staatspräsident Nicolas Sarkozy. Carla hat sich das natürlich auch nicht entgehen lassen - wenn ihre alte Clique schon mal in Paris aufschlägt. Hinterher gab es bestimmt Schampus und kein Ende. Der rechts neben Franca ist übrigens mal wieder Diesel-Chef Renzo Rosso.

Zur Begrüdnung hieß es: “Franca Sozzani is a great philosopher of the fashion world and these 25 years in Conde Nast represent a major success from both an artistic and a financial point of view. She has been having an important role in the discovery of new talents and has distinguished herself for having opened the doors of this world, always looking for synergies with other sectors of the market. A brave woman for being output from the classical canons of fashion and giving space in Vogue Italia to the black and curvy reality. French fashion has to thank this Italian Editor-in chief for the support that she has brought to the fashion world in these years.”

Und darauf sagte Franca Sozzani: “I am very truly gratified for this honour that France has wished to bestow upon me. It will be another incentive to carry on my mission as the Ambassador of Fashion. My goal is to make this world more accessible by helping new designers, creative artists and technicians, enabling them to work anywhere in the world under the finest conditions in order to release their talent.”

Niedlich, wie gerührt sie auf diesem Foto hier aussieht. Ich hätte sicher ein bisschen geweint...

Und mal zum Vergleich, wer ihrer Landsmänner auch schon in Frankreich geehrt wurde: Umberto Eco, Giorgio Armani, Carlo De Benedetti und Giorgio De Chirico. Kann sich alles sehen lassen.
